Welcome! My name is Mimi Maclean. I love everything about entrepreneurship. I invest in companies as an angel investor, have started several businesses and a non for profit, and advised many other entrepreneurs starting their ventures. My mind is always coming up with ideas, so to my fault, I can’t just focus on one thing but love to have many projects in the works. I live by the quote, “progress, not perfection.” Nothing makes me happier than seeing others have their dreams come to reality.   

I studied Entrepreneurship at Columbia Business School, where I won the business plan competition. I have started several companies along the way, including my new venture, the Badass CEO. I love highlighting amazing women who are making things happen and following their dreams. Each week on the Badass CEO podcast, I interview entrepreneurs and high-level executives to discuss business strategies, life experiences, lessons learned, tipping points, and what it takes to become and continue to be a Badass CEO. I hope to give you the motivation and tools needed to follow your dreams and be successful.

Another passion of mine is healthy living. In high school, I started reading every health book I could find. I became a Holistic Health Practitioner at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York City. After that, I decided to combine both my passions in health and business. Seven years ago, I invested in and joined Beautycounter, where I became a founding consultant and now, Managing Director. I love being a part of a company that empowers their consultants to build their businesses and is leading the future towards clean beauty by formulating products without harmful ingredients, advocating for change in the beauty industry, and educating the public. 

In 2015, I was bit by a tick and have suffered from chronic Lyme ever since. With this experience, I decided to start Lyme 360 and the Heal Podcast to create a community of warriors, help educate, and provide inspiration through this invisible illness.

In 2019, I started Happy Birthday Foundation to provide children in need with the opportunity to have a birthday celebration. We have partnered with foster care programs, group homes, and other organizations and deliver birthday boxes with cake, candles, and other little treats to each child on their big day! I use a portion of the proceeds from Beautycounter to finance these special birthdays. Additional funding comes from those in the community who donate their birthday and create their fundraising page on our website.
